In the first of our Color Combo of the week series, we feature Blush and Green, a duo that is on-trend, but old-world-glamorous at the same time. You can say that blush is a lighter take on peach that is almost pink, but not exactly “Millennial Pink”—this is far more sophisticated than the hipster hue.

Pairing blush with a deep green hue tempers its femininity, making it more gender-neutral and refined. The pairing is quite flexible, and could be traditional and classical, or it could swing to the opposite direction to Scandinavian and modern. But however you style it, this combination is definitely refreshing. Here are some pegs to inspire you.

Pastel tints and deeply saturated hues go well together.

Boysen Paints’ 2017 Color Trends have four color palettes that complement and contrast with each other. Case in point: the Techy Romantic blush tint goes well with Tradition palette’s patrician-looking, deep green of Scout’s Honor.

Go for texture and bold patterns.

Eijffinger, a Dutch wallpaper and textile company, has been around for almost 150 years, but they still keep up (and make) trends. One example is their blush wallpaper that looks like a soft pink marble. On the right is Cole and Son’s Jungle wallpaper, which has a marvelous old Hollywood vibe.

Geometric patterns are refreshing.

Wallpaper doesn’t have to be traditional and fussy—go for patterns that are daringly geometric. Subtle striations in blush and mauve by Eijffinger and geometric prisms by Cole and Son look great side by side. Both brands are available at Studio Eleven.

Tropical goes with tropical.

The vibrant palm patterns of Jungle wallpaper by Cole and Son are the perfect backdrop for Ito Kish’s rattan and mother-of-pearl La Union console table.

Layer an actual Monstera Deliciosa plant against a printed version on Eijffinger wallpaper.

Try monochrome with rich fabrics.

It’s okay to go totally monochrome with a green hue; just layer different textures and fabrics. Here, deep green velvet upholstery stands out against an emerald green wall. A series of mirrors add depth to the room. Fabric is available at Studio Eleven.

Blush is perfect for Scandi styles.

A blush-tinted accent wall makes for the perfect setting for the Home Folk showroom’s sleek, Scandinavian furniture pieces. Says brand manager Maxine Ong of the setup: “It’s more homey. Our structures are a bit larger, we have more wood items, more feminine colors like light pinks, yellows, blues.”

Gold adds the perfect touch of glamour to this combo.

To celebrate their third anniversary, lifestyle brand Moss Manila Home launched their “Manila Living, California Dreaming Collection.” Palm Springs’ cloudless blue skies, California palm trees, and laidback but glamorous vibe inspired this ten-piece collection, which features a lot of champagne gold, marble, black, and blush with green, of course.

Check out this perfect blush sofa!

Appropriately called the “Palm Springs Sofa,” this blush stunner is a wonderful mix of midcentury curves and glamorous accents, as seen in the pleated backrest and gold legs.

And this emerald tallboy with lots of storage.

Rissa Mananquil Trillo, beauty columnist and co-owner of Happy Skin, collaborated with Moss Manila Home to create this statuesque bar cabinet. “I didn’t want a furniture piece that looked like a cabinet, I wanted something that looked like a sculpture,” she says. The bar cabinet/tallboy opens to reveal different panels and levels of wine rack, shelves, and a mini bar counter, all in a silky green piano finish.

Moss Manila Home’s co-owner and designer Happy Fernandez-Victorino explains how they came up with this collection. “We love the unique vibe of the city and it was so refreshing to use this,” says Happy about their collection’s blush and forest green palette. “Palm Springs is known for its midcentury modern furniture and vibe…so we took those elements and married these to our design aesthetics, which are black, white, and gold.”
