Sandwiched between Mandaluyong and Pasig is a city teeming with real estate options, plus cultural and lifestyle destinations. While the city of San Juan is small, together with the adjacent New Manila area, this hot spot is growing more popular than ever because of the establishments surrounding the vicinity. If you're interested in exploring the magic of San Juan, here's a list of places to visit this weekend:

1. Ronac Art Center

You’ll see what looks like a series of randomly placed windows, but it really spells out the lyrics of a Daft Punk song—in Morse code! Inside, a spiral staircase connects the various shopping and eating destinations as well as art hubs in the building. Designed by Jagnus Design Studio, the building won the Haligi ng Dangal People’s Choice Award this year.

Ortigas Ave., Greenhills

2. The Metro Art Gallery

This gallery hosts exhibits featuring artists’ interpretations and experiences of various aspects of our culture.

3. The Artologist

Prepare to be in awe as you enter this haven of emerging and mid-career artists.

4. Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine

This five-hectare park houses the Museo ng Katipunan, which details the life of Gat Andres Bonifacio. Bonifacio led the Katipuneros in the Battle of Pinaglabanan, the first battle between the Spaniards and the Filipinos. Entrance is free.

Pinaglabanan St., San Juan City

5. Music Museum & Teatrino

Catch musical shows and stand-up comedy performances at this theater gallery, which also features memorabilia of local music artists.
