Bricks are reliable materials that can be used as surface finishes for your home. It doesn’t matter what your style is–be it modern or classic–if you need a touch of texture, warmth, and a bit of rusticity, brick walls can be amazing combination with any interior. Walls made of bricks also help on stabilizing the temperature inside your home.

Whether you are renovating or planning to spruce up your space, consider these ideas and incorporate bricks to your interior.

Classic Brick Wall

This red-brown wall of this brick house in Magallanes match the industrial-style windows—achieving a New York warehouse-apartment peg in the home office. Wooden elements, shelves and hardwood floors also make a good combination with the walls, completing the space.

Painted Brick Wall

Keeping up with the minimalist style of the home, this brick wall is painted in white making the space look clean and bright. It also serves as a textured but neutral canvas to the photographs in similar frames to achieve balance and keep it from looking overdecorated.

Roman Brick Wall

Roman bricks are usually longer and narrower than the standard brick size. Interior designer Brill Flores-Sanchez retained the existing brick wall in the dining area of this penthouse in Caloocan City. To pair well with the wall, wooden and antique furniture pieces are also added to accent the rustic feel of the space.

Brick Panels

Instead of a plain white wall, interior designer Diana Zamora opted for white faux brick panels for the living room, making a pretty contrast with the opposite wall covered in black wallpaper. These panels can be DIY'd by adding grooves to standard plyboard panels.

If exposed brick wall is not in your options, you can still pull off a rustic charm by putting up faux brick walls. Install brick hardboard panel to your wall and paint it with white. To help you get started, follow these steps.

Weathered Bricks

Weathered bricks are added in the living area and kitchen of this home in Antipolo to add to the warm, rustic and homey feel of the spaces. This finish can be achieved by adding lime or a washing thin layer of white paint over the bricks.

Brick Veneer

The brick wall in this New York-style home adds texture to the space, matched with repurposed décor items for the laidback and eclectic vibe. You can also achieve the look of whole brick wall with veneers—the thin slivers of brick that are installed onto the wall. Once the wall is cleaned, draw horizontal lines on it to use as pattern and start gluing every veneer onto the wall with adhesive. To help you work on your own, follow the steps here.
