Bathroom Picks For High, Mid, or Low Budgets

Because you can have a stylish bathroom, regardless of the price points!

One of the most complicated rooms to renovate at home is the bathroom—simply because there are a lot of things to consider. There is the waterproofing to take care of, the plumbing lines to repair and follow, and the time-consuming work that goes into tiling.

But regardless of the extent of renovations, you shouldn’t have to scrimp on toilet fixtures and fittings. These are products that you will be using constantly, daily, so you should choose quality fixtures that will give you value for your money. Here are some choices, from break-the-bank to budget (there is one sink here for less than P600!):

High-end

Top-of-the-line brands such as Duravit, Hansgrohe, Kohler, are in the high price range because the best international designers create their fixtures, and years of engineering and research go into the development of their products. A lot of these types of fixtures are the “firsts.” For example, the Axor faucet designed by Philippe Starck in 1994 was the first single mixer-spout tap, when before that, sinks needed two taps—one for cold water, and one for hot.

Prices range from P30,000-plus and up for faucets, accessories, and selected basins, P100,000-plus and up for freestanding bathtubs.

Mid-range

Bathroom products in the middle range have friendlier price points, but they do not sacrifice quality; with some retaining almost the same features as their high-end collections. Some high-end brands such as Kohler even have mid-range products, specifically those in their classical-style Memoirs collection (the lavatory below costs around P20,000). Mid-end bathroom products range from P15,000 to P50,000, depending on the brand.

Budget

When you want to build an extra bathroom but your purse strings are tight, there are a lot of low-end but quality fixtures on the market. Home depots like Wilcon and CW Home Depot carry their own line of in-house bathroom brands (Pozzi for Wilcon and Cool for CW) that are very affordable. Prices range from P10,000 and below. One caveat: these items usually don’t come in different colorways; these are mostly white.
