Reader Question: What Kind of Outdoor Furniture Should I Buy in Manila?
Furnish your outdoor space with sturdy and durable pieces that will stand the test of time
Q: We are working on beautifying our garden so we are thinking of buying an outdoor set that can withstand harsh weather. We don't have a big budget so a pricey teakwood set is already crossed off our list—unless you can recommend a shop that sells reasonably-priced teakwood furniture!
Plastic is also an option, but preferably not those ubiquitous Monobloc chairs. So far, we haven't found anything in the department stores that thrilled us. Any suggestions?—Edsel Dura, Taytay, Rizal
A: Put teakwood furniture back on that list! It’s better to invest in pricey teakwood than to settle on your second choice plastic set. Outdoor teakwood furniture looks better than its plastic counterparts. It’s also more durable, making it a good investment that will last a lifetime. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful outdoor pieces at Komodo Teak Furniture. You might get lucky and see something you like—on sale!
Another option would be to look for previously-owned teak furniture in second-hand shops. Remember: don’t give up and don’t settle for anything less.
