Architect Sonny and Mylah Quiboquibo wanted to build the ideal family home for their children, Luigi and Tisha. However, midway into the construction, seven-year-old Luigi was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia. Instead of completing their dream house, the couple ended up focusing their time and money on taking care of Luigi.

To complete the Quiboquibo's half-finished property, Grace Moslares of Magara Designs stepped in. Grace built walls, installed flooring, and exerted every effort to turn this shell of a house into a full-fledged home.

To transform the family room, Grace painted the walls with Raw Silk paint from Boysen. She adorned the windows with green curtains from Robinsons Department Store.

According to Grace, the old sofa set was reupholstered with floral-print fabric from Townes Fabrics. Instead of adding a traditional coffee table, she chose a pair of ottomans with hidden storage from Robinsons Department Store.

RL Tip: Do you want to liven up a bare wall? You can create your own artwork! For this family room, Jason Bongat painted a plain board from James Hardie using paints from Boysen.

Since Sonny and Mylah did not have a proper bed, Grace built a white bed frame using materials from Handyman. She highlighted the new bed frame by painting stripes on the built-in headboard.

The bed is dressed up with pillows and bed linen from Robinsons Department Store.

Luigi and Tisha used to share the same bedroom. To create two separate spaces for the siblings, Grace used HardieFlex boards from JamesHardie.

Since Captain America is Luigi's favorite superhero, Grace created a Captain America shield above the bed. She also used red and blue paint, furniture, and furnishings for the rest of the bedroom.

Grace also made wall-mounted shelves using plyboards from JamesHardie and brackets from Handyman. These wooden ledges are used to store and display Luigi's cherished toys.

Even five-year-old Tisha now has her own bedroom! Grace covered the walls with Raw Silk and Puffy Tutu paints from Boysen. Instead of a headboard, she defined the head of the bed with pink panels from Hardieflex.

To make the bed inviting, the design consultant adorned the bed with pillows and bed linen from Robinsons Department Store.

Facing the bed is a small play area for Tisha. We love the pink wall-mounted shelves and the tall shelving unit. Even the new curtains are in a soft shade of pink.
