Living, Dining, and Bedroom Makeovers in Sta. Rosa, Laguna
Interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy renovated this family home after Typhoon Glenda
In recent years, our country has been deeply affected by many strong typhoons, including Milenyo, Ondoy, Sendong, Yolanda, and Glenda. These typhoons have ravaged thousands of Filipino homes in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, including this three-storey house in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Thankfully, the problems in this particular property could be easily fixed by interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy and her construction team! Apart from fixing the damaged roof and replacing the broken windows, Suzanne also greatly improved the appearance of this vacation home.

Suzanne started by fixing the sunken roof and replacing the broken window panes in the living area.
She also chose brand new furniture pieces in soothing neutral colors, including a brand new L-shaped sectional sofa and a tufted coffee table from Home Matters.
Suzanne defined a corner of the living area with thin wooden strips. She also brought in a side table from Triboa Bay Living and a wing chair and ottoman from Home Matters.
A wall clock, tabletop decor, and framed black-and-white photos add character to this particular space.
To create a calm and peaceful home, Suzanne replaced the colorful furniture and accessories with pieces in white, gray, and brown.
For example, in the dining area, she got rid of the fuzzy purple droplights and the white-and-green dining chairs. The new lighting fixture and fully upholstered chairs with tufted detail from Home Matters better suit the renovated space.
Since this guest bedroom was barely used, the homeowners asked Suzanne to turn it into a playroom for their young niece. For a more interesting look, she covered one of the walls with a graphic-print wallpaper.
