After five years of living in this condo, homeowner Dodi Martinez still found it difficult to create the perfect haven for her and her three children. Although Dodi owned many interesting antique pieces, it seemed that something was still missing in her home.

To highlight the beauty of her precious furniture and to make the space more stylish, comfortable, and organized, Architects Ivy Tablante-Darilag and Edwin Patriarca of Structura Architects stepped in. The architects painted the walls and installed wall cladding to define the entertainment and study area. They also decided to rearrange the family's old chairs, tables, and panels.

How can you update the look of a home filled with traditional furniture pieces? Choose a modern wall color! The architects covered the dirty white walls with cool and chic gray paint from Handyman.

To organize the open space, the architects moved the old furniture pieces around! There are now clearly defined living and dining areas.

The architects turned the family's old dining chairs into a unique wooden seat for the living area. They topped the refurbished piece with a white cushion and throw pillows. They also marked the living area with a shag rug from Robinsons Department Store.

Looking for another way to define the different areas in your home? You may want to put up wall cladding! It can serve as an appealing focal point and complement the wooden furniture pieces in your home.

RL Tip: Instead of wall cladding, you can paint one wall with a different color. You may even want to cover one wall with wallpaper.

The architects surprised the homeowner by fixing up her son Judo's bedroom! They painted an old capiz divider white and used it to separate the bedroom from the living and dining areas.

To make the small space seem bigger, they also put up a wall-mounted mirror and rotated the son's bed. The bed is dressed with blue bed linen from Robinsons Department Store.

Robinsons Department Store
Pillows, linens, and accessories - P 40,000
