A Bedroom Makeover for a Homeowner's Mom in San Juan City
What would you do if you received an all-expense paid bedroom makeover for your birthday?
When homeowner Leilani Nicdao didn't receive a reply to her Real Living makeover contest entry, she decided to improve her home on her own. According to her, she was able to spruce up their extra bedroom and laundry area, but she wasn't allowed to work on her mother's bedroom because mommy Letty could only entrust the bedroom to a professional.
Thankfully, after a few months of waiting, Leilani finally heard back from Real Living. They also found out that design consultant Marilen Faustino-Montenegro was more than willing to transform mommy Letty's bedroom — just in time for her birthday!
Here are 3 things that we can learn from this bedroom makeover:
The first thing that we noticed about this bedroom makeover is that the mismatched storage options have been replaced with matching cabinets and shelves! Storage options with the same colors can make a room look clean, organized, and streamlined.
If you can't afford a bedroom makeover just yet, you can start by purchasing a new bed frame. If this is also out of the question, you can begin with a new mattress, pillows, and bed linen.
RL Tip: You may also want to save up for a nice table lamp and bedside table. You can use it to hold a glass of water and a stack of your favorite books.
Marilen concealed the unsightly curtain rod with a light green valance. She also hid the unsightly windows with two different curtains.
