5 Times Paint Helped Transform a Space
Finding the right hue can definitely help you!
When a room looks a bit plain and dull, livening it up can be as easy as adding a vibrant throw, a printed pillow cover, or even a lovely work of art that can do wonders for your walls. However, if these easy hacks can’t seem to get the job done, you can always count on a few cans of paint and a trusty brush to help save the day.
You may choose to work on a DIY project and create an accent wall or you can collaborate with a professional to have an entire room or the whole house repainted. To give you ideas on how paint and a touch of color can transform your home, here are memorable makeovers worth revisiting:
Finding the right color combination can result into magic
Perhaps one of the trickiest parts of working with color is finding a combo that works. While neutrals can go well with almost anything, you’d want to have something refreshing and surprising that can give your home a new look.
For the renovation of this family home, interior designer Kristine Neri-Magturo and the design team worked with a Tiffany blue and yellow palette to help restore the property. The result? Pure genius and magic. We especially loved the transformation of the kitchen—just imagine whipping up meals and treats in a clean and sunny space!

A bright color palette can open up a space
To be able to relax by day and sleep soundly at night, our rooms need to be organized, inviting, and can easily make us feel at ease.
In order to turn things around in this kiddie bedroom, interior designer Kathryn Villanueva chose a light and cheerful palette highlighting shades of yellow. It worked perfectly with the chosen furnishings—giving the bubbly occupant a room she’ll proudly call her own.

A charming accent wall can liven up an area
Every once in a while, a color boost can freshen up your home’s vibe. In this living area, interior designer and Real Living style editor Dagny Madamba chose to pair light neutrals with a blue accent wall. These colors helped create the bright and welcoming feel that the owners wanted.
If you’re planning on working with different hues in one area, start by researching on complementing colors and consulting with a design professional. Since this living room features light colors on the walls, it’s quite easy to add bold pops here and there through furniture and accessories.

You can use color to inject fun into a space
If you’re tired of seeing solid-colored walls, you can always take inspiration from this makeover led by design consultant Grace Moslares. After painting the bedroom’s walls white, she highlighted the sleeping corner with red and orange stripes. These subtle hints of vibrant color added personality to the area.
Aside from stripes, you can always experiment with geometric patterns, polka dots, and a paint and wallpaper combo.

Choosing nature-inspired colors can give your space a calming ambiance
Aside from adding potted plants and décor pieces reminiscent of nature and the outdoors, you can still achieve your own mini oasis at home by working with an invigorating palette highlighting muted shades and earth tones.
For this makeover, interior designer Hannah Acab-Faustino chose colors and elements reminiscent of spring—giving the homeowner a relaxing unit with a refreshing feel. Achieve something similar by working with shades of brown, gray, and green.
