This Coworking Space in Makati Can Rival Your Favorite Cafe

Work Folk will make it easier for you to stay productive

In August, Makati CBD produced yet another hotspot where millennials young and old can focus on three things: growth, passion, and productivity.

Work Folk, located at the brand new M1 Tower, is the latest offering of Hospitality Innovators, Inc. (HII)—the Filipino-owned company that manages The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences in Makati, Azumi Boutique Hotel in Alabang, and Hue Hotels and Resorts in Puerto Princesa and Boracay, to name a few.

It offers spaces where you can just plug in your laptop and get to work on whatever you need—your wedding planning, online business, or freelance work. The best part? Its interiors are gorgeous!

Flying solo: Freelancers, students, office workers in coworking spaces

"For those who may be more on the move and still need a space to get things done outside of the office, a coworking space is perfect since it provides all the necessary tools to accomplish tasks," says Work Folk Community Manager Carlos del Prado in an interview with Female Network.

"For someone who also has a sideline trade outside of the office job, it's an alternative for working from home. And a coworking space isn't just about the work possibilities—there is a social aspect that plays into the whole experience, one that allows people to learn from one another."

Aside from an Open Desk deal for freelancers and walk-ins (three hours to as long as weekly or monthly tenures), a Dedicated Desk (comes with an exclusive space for each member), they also offer locker rentals, meeting rooms, a high-speed Internet connection (100 mbps), flexible membership plans, and unlimited pours of water, coffee, and tea.

Small business owners and teams

For big groups and teams, they have the Private Offices—a furnished room with desks, chairs, and mobile pedestals. Members also enjoy 10 hours of meeting room use free of charge each month.

It can even be an event venue, which can be a center for the community to attend talks, workshops, and seminars that can enhance skills and further careers.

"A coworking space is built around the notion of flexibility and ease of use, and works very well for small business owners who need a dedicated space to be able to get their businesses running.

"We provide room not only for a business to get started but to thrive and grow as well, alongside other like-minded people. It isn't just about growing your own business, but building and helping out a community as well."

Etiquette for coworking spaces

As with anything social, there are basic etiquette rules to follow when working in a coworking space. As Carlos instructs, "As with any shared space, it's about being able to respect and help your neighbor out. Sit down at a table, make some new friends, don't make too much noise, maybe brew a pot of coffee if you take the last cup—give and take is always a good rule of thumb to follow."

Work Folk is located at 9/F M1 Tower, 141 H.V. Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati City. For more information, visit www.workfolk.ph
