Like many of us this quarantine, homeowner Tin Cura has been spending a lot of time in her kitchen. “My husband and I love to cook and eat,” she tells Real Living. But despite being a busy area, Tin's kitchen looks surprisingly neat!

The Dubai-based Pinay’s kitchen has a minimalist aesthetic. It follows a neutral color scheme, with white walls and beige handleless cabinets for a streamlined look. What’s interesting is, you can only find two kitchen appliances on her countertop! “The pandemic has taught us a lot of things—one of which is that less really is more.” That said, “we decluttered most of our stuff, making sure that we only have the essentials.”

To keep their countertops clutter-free, Tin and her partner made sure that there are dedicated spaces for their kitchen tools and appliances inside the cabinets. "As much as possible, we try to only keep the necessary kitchen equipment—we don’t even own a rice cooker! We cook our rice the traditional way.”

Tin’s cooking ingredients are beautifully organized, too:

In case you’re wondering, she got her containers from Rubbermaid’s Brilliance line. She bought them from Amazon, but they’re also available on Lazada! “I like that they’re airtight and leak-proof,” she shares. “I also DIY-ed all the labels in our kitchen using an editing software. I simply printed the labels on a transparent sticker paper.”

Tin also makes use of dish racks to keep her bowls and plates in order:

When asked how she keeps her kitchen looking clean—especially when cooking—Tin says: “Wash as you cook! We like to tidy up before we sit down and eat so there will be less stuff to clean."

She adds, “Make it a routine to clean the kitchen at the end of the day and early in the morning. For us, cleaning and organizing on a daily basis is better than cleaning thoroughly once a week. Also, [having] less things in the kitchen means [you spend] less time cleaning, too!”
