This Homeowner Gave Her Eight-Year-Old Dining Table a Rustic Makeover
It only took her five days to finish this DIY project!

"I came across this farmhouse dining table online, which I really liked,” shares homeowner Andrei in an email interview with Real Living. "But disposing my existing dining table didn’t seem like a wise thing to do.” So instead of buying a new one, Andrei thought of giving her eight-year-old wooden dining table a rustic makeover instead!
"I bought some wood pallets for the tabletop, as well as new table legs,” shares Andrei. Her trusted carpenter was supposed to get the job done, but because of the lockdown, she was inspired to take matters into her own hands. "Kung hindi ngayon, kalian pa?"
Andrei started the makeover by revamping the surface of her table. “I had pieces of wood lined up on top of my existing table and then I used screws to secure them."
She also replaced the slim table legs with chunkier, more intricate ones to achieve that farmhouse-like aesthetic. "For the legs, what I used were actually pillars for staircases, which I got from Wilcon."
“Fixing the legs of the table was actually the most challenging part,” she shares. “I had to put extra screws and nails to make sure they were properly fastened."
“Lastly, I painted the tabletop with wood stain and I used white paint for the legs." It took her five days to complete the DIY makeover!
The finished result is a chic, rustic dining table, which added a cozy vibe to her dining room.
"If you take a closer look, [you will notice that the table] really isn’t perfect. Hindi pantay-pantay yung cuts ng wood, but that’s what makes this piece more [charming]."
