A Contemporary Industrial Bedroom Makeover for a Toy Collector
Everything in its place
For collectors, especially for those who are into toys and figures, space and storage solutions are of utmost importance when it comes to designing a room. As one’s trove may have a lot of rare and expensive pieces, the area has to be safe and secure for items on display.
This loft is an unused area located in the bedroom of the owner, who happens to be a collector of Funko Pop and Hot Toys, among others.

Interior designer Sharlene Lanzarrote was tasked with the makeover. “Since his room has technically two levels, we decided to completely turn the upper level into a sleeping and lounge area,” she says in an email to Real Living. “In order to make a warmer and cozier atmosphere, we installed PVC wood ceiling panels to make the space look like a contemporary log cabin. The upper level only houses his bed, a reading nook, and a piano.”

The lower level is where work and play happen.

“As a collector, one of the most interesting features when buying a special figure is the art box. Our client specifically wanted to feature art boxes... We also added a frameless glass cabinet with built-in LED strip lights to showcase his collection and protect them from dust as well.” Ample shelving is provided for Funko Pops and other kits.
