This Small Bedroom Makeover Was Done With a P20,000 Budget
See how this homeowner carved out an office space in his tiny bedroom!
As a freelancer, homeowner John Austin Perez considers his bedroom as his very own home office, too.
The only problem with this setup? Austin shared that his room looked “makalat” and “crowded.” The content creator-web designer used to have a wall-mounted desk for work and a mattress in his room. “Dito kami natutulog sa lapag. Naglalatag lang ng kutson,” he wrote on his Facebook post. Since he lacked storage space, you can find his personal stuff—from shoe boxes to bags—in corners of his room.

BEFORE
So when he had more time in his hands during the quarantine, Austin thought of freshening up his space!
AFTER
The homeowner decided to invest in a loft bed, which not only helped free up some floor space, but also somehow keep his workspace and sleeping space separated.
“I spent around P13,500 for the custom loft bed. This already includes the labor and the material,” the 23-year-old shared with Real Living in an email interview.
To breathe new life to his room, Austin also had his walls repainted in a warm neutral shade. “I spent around P5,000 for the repainting of the walls.” According to the homeowner, he spent around P20,000 for the entire makeover!
To maximize the space, the staircase leading up to his bed double as extra storage.
Underneath the loft bed, you can find Austin’s cozy office space. “[Ang sarap] mag work [dito],” the proud homeowner said. Austin also installed blue ambient lights behind the desks, giving the space an overall relaxing ambience.
