What You Need to Know Before Planning a Trip to Coron

Following a reopening through a strictly point-to-point bubble tourism policy in September, Coron, Palawan is officially easing restrictions and jumpstarting domestic tourism on November 15. An executive order from the office of the municipal mayor was signed on November 4, listing down specific travel requirements for all incoming travelers. Only "fully vaccinated domestic tourists and foreigners, particularly those already staying in the Philippines before the start of the pandemic" are allowed to enter the island.

Here are the latest Coron travel requirements (as of November 4):

• Government ID
• COVID-19 vaccination card
• Negative results of an RT-PCR test conducted by the Philippine Red Cross with official receipt taken within 72 hours of departure
• Confirmed hotel, tour, or diving booking
• Approved S-PaSS travel application

Don't forget their guidelines for travelers:

• Book only at accommodation establishments with business permit from 2020 or 2021, accreditation from the Department of Tourism, and a Safety Seal. All accommodation establishments (AEs) can operate with a maximum 50% occupancy.
• Tours and diveshops are also required to have a business permit from 2020 or 2021, accreditation from the Department of Tourism, and a Safety Seal.
• Transportation for town tours should only have 50% occupancy. Joiners are allowed.
• Tour and diving should only be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
