There's A Magical Bar Behind This Photo Booth
Yes, speakeasies do exist, and there's an accessible one in Cubao

Speakeasies are not meant to be found. If you go back to its original definition (meaning: An illicit store or club during the Prohibition era), the reason why these particular bars or pubs were located behind a nondescript door of a grocery store or Laundromat was so that the policemen wouldn’t barge in.
And INT. Bar is just that. You’ll find it behind the red velvet curtain of a clever photo booth entrance (above) that mingles the whole speakeasy experience with the charming modesty of Cubao Expo.
Everything about INT.Bar felt right to me—the furnishings, the just-dim-enough lighting, and the bar itself (an industrial wonder with slight Steampunk touches) wasn’t over-the-top, because every detail served its purpose—they weren’t there for Instagram’s sake.
It was apparent that a lot of thought went into everything, from the mid-century furniture and bankers’ lamps to the cocktails that I ordered. The cherry in my Amaretto Sour was a fresh one that was soaked in something fabulous and alcoholic; it gave an extra kick the moment I chewed on it. And as I munched on my nachos with generous toppings, some customers walked in to ask the bartender if they paid for last night’s drinks.
The overall vibe is relaxed, which makes it a great place to kick back and decompress and not be noticed—because you know you’re not there to impress anyone.
INT. Bar is open from 5pm to 1am and is located at Cubao Expo, General Romulo Ave., Cubao, Quezon City; mobile 0917-806-9991, or follow them on Facebook or Instagram @int.bar
