WATCH: Why the Best Way to Experience Halong Bay Is Aboard a Cruise Ship

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a bustling city that's teeming with centuries-old stories. Its well-preserved French colonial architecture, old temples, and even hole-in-the-wall restaurants are a testament to this rich and vibrant culture.

Seventy-two hours isn't enough to fully immerse in this capital city, but we did anyway. First on the agenda was an overnight experience aboard the Ambassador Cruise, a luxury cruise with 46 cabins and curated tours for guests. It took us around the expansive Halong Bay, which happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts more than 7,000 islets with different rock formations.
