Let's admit it–given the traffic situation in Manila, most of us prefer to stay at home that waste precious time out in the streets just to get from point A to point B. Since we're spending more time at home, we can use it to organize our space or do some decorating activities to beautify the place.

We recently featured a couple of new homes found in Metro Manila that you can use as pegs! These spaces prove that you can have your own personal sanctuary that you'd love to come home to amidst the hustle and bustle of the metro.

How can you transform a plain 45sqm unit into a cozy haven that the owner wanted? Grupo Santamaria, led by principal interior designer Nina Santamaria worked with softly upholstered furniture, low-maintenance materials, and a warm, soothing color palette.  They also focused on the bedroom as well as added a walk-in closet and tons of storage for bags.

San Juan

To let the homeowners enjoy the convenience of city living and the comforts of a rest house in the province, interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy worked with earth colors and modern pieces with rustic touches. This home shows that you can feel like in the province even if you're in the heart of the city.

Quezon City

Once you step into this home, you would immediately notice the open kitchen with its modern contemporary-meets-industrial style. To create a rustic feel, you can also work with wooden touches, metallic elements, and wrought-iron materials.

How sweet it is to come home to a calming space inspired by the sea? This 54sqm unit features ocean-inspired shades like blue, brown, and white. If you would also like a similar feel, you can pair these shades with wooden furniture and plants.

How can you liven up an old house? If you're currently living in the family home, you can brighten up the space by filling it with the things you love. The owner of this home used traditional Filipino furniture and some of his travel finds.
