One look at this 50sqm condo unit in Manila and you’ll know that a young female professional owns it. The dominance of olive green, touches of pink, and the different patterns give it away. “She bought that unit when she was still studying,” says interior designer Leatrice Lu. “She wanted a look that would reflect her personality and a look that has a happy, positive vibe as soon as she enters.” And Leatrice was able to do just that. Coming home to this condo unit is like being transported to a happy place, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.

Living Area

The customized sofa in the living area also serves as a bed. “Another request was an extra sleeping space for sleepovers. So instead of a sofa, the sitting area doubles as a bed. We had it customized to fit a single mattress with a pull out bed underneath,” explains Leatrice. Meanwhile, framed typography décor not only keep the wall from looking plain—it reveals the unit owner’s personality, too.

Dining Area

Floral placemats from Harper&Harlow add to the “urban jungle” vibe that is seen throughout the unit. “Most accessories in the unit are nature inspired to counter the buildings, cars, and all sorts of pollutants in Manila,” says Leatrice.

Bedroom

Light pink beddings suit the girly personality of the unit owner, while the tufted headboard adds a bit of glam. Leatrice had the bed custom-made at Mity Mike, Inc. The bed has drawers underneath where bed linens and other personal belongings are kept.

You can get similar beddings at H&M Home, G/L SM Makati, Ayala Center Makati City.

The bespoke pendant lamps—both in the dining area and the bedroom—are also from Mity Mike, Inc. Meanwhile, the floral décor and books add a personal touch to the bedside.

The white bookshelf provides a stark contrast to the deep blue wall. It also makes the space look young. Meanwhile, simple floral arrangements that jazz up the shelf are in keeping with the nature-inspired theme.

Different tabletop accessories jazz up a white console by the window. The deep blue curtains echo the deep blue walls behind the bookshelf.

Find similar framed accessories at Landmark Department Store in Makati City and in TriNoma, Quezon City. They’re also available at Robinsons Department Store at Robinsons malls nationwide.

Different patterns and shades of green seen on the throw pillows liven up the living area.

You can get similar throw pillow cases at H&M Home and Harper&Harlow.

A mix of greens and whites on this side table in the living area keeps to the unit’s nature theme. When styling a vignette like this, play with accessories of different heights to create layers and to keep the vignette from looking boring.
