Some condominium units tend to become cookie-cutter homes, with each unit looking identical to the last. But this is not the case with Jedd and Leslie’s unit, as this couple’s condo resembles a stylish home of the future with its curved ceilings and walls, sleek and sinewy interior architecture, and ultra-modern furniture pieces.

The young couple turned to Julia Sandra Uy of Uo2 Architects who took inspiration not from science fiction, but from Jedd and Leslie’s personalities. In spite of their differing personalities, the couple still had many common interests. They both loved outdoor activities, traveling, home entertainment, and collecting souvenirs.

“We got the design inspiration from Jedd and Leslie’s activities, hobbies, and travels,” explains Julia. “The texture of the walls is provided by its terrain-like appearance,” she adds in reference to the textured “topo” wall in the living and dining area. The rest of the spaces feature curved recessed ceilings, a proliferation of soft and rounded furnishings, and highly textured raw concrete walls.

Jedd and Leslie also wanted his and hers bathrooms with walk-in-closets, which Uo2 worked into the design, as the existing layout only had one bathroom in the master bedroom. The two bathrooms show the different characters of husband and wife: Jedd’s is kitted out with open shelves bursting at the seams with his outdoor sports equipment, while Leslie’s is a sweet but modern space with feminine touches such as a tufted ottoman and a crystal chandelier.

If you’re looking for a home that beautifully pulls off a design of two different personalities, you’ve found it here—space-age style, outdoorsy gear, chandeliers, and all.

Living Area

Curvy spaces call for curvy furnishings, and this is why the designers had this modern couch custom-built for the living room. “It’s pretty hard to find ready-made furniture that fit in our curvy spaces,” says Leslie.

Entertainment Wall

No need for a bulky TV unit here! “One of Jedd’s requests was a movie projector and a white screen in the couch area,” says architect Julia Sandra Uy. The living area’s cement wall and ceiling were constructed in a way that leaves room for a white screen that rolls up and out of view when not in use.

Jedd and Leslie collect Starbucks mugs and these are highlighted in the curvy, built-in shelves of the bar area at left. The couple already have 85 Starbucks mugs (and counting) from all over the world.

Dining Area

The glass-topped dining table here is from Calligaris. The unique, space-age-style pendant light fixture from Dexterton (which matches the “topo” wall next to it, seen in the main photo above) provides light for the entire area.

Reading Nook

One of the amazing features of Uo2’s design is the interior architecture, as seen in this built-in shelving unit that merges into this reading nook. The veneer shelving details blend nto the termination of the ceiling, giving it a seamless look.

Master Bedroom

“Our bedroom is our sanctuary,” says Leslie. “Whenever we are traveling, we look forward to coming home.” A low, built-in seating ledge beside the bed doubles as storage. The unique curved dropped ceiling detail is also evident in this room.

Walk-in Closet (Hers)

Siya, bedroom yung closet. Akin, extension lang ng banyo ang closet ko,” says Jedd with a laugh. Leslie’s walk-in-closet and dressing area has delightfully feminine touches, as seen in the chandelier and tufted ottoman. The charming room keeps with the rest of the modern house by sticking to the same color scheme, and using a Philippe Starck Ghost chair (find similar at Dexterton).

Walk-in Closet (His)

Jedd located his “man-cave” in the space adjacent to the bathroom. Aside from his clothes, his sports equipment are all here too: fencing, diving, biking, and badminton paraphernalia.
