Did you know that fashion stylist and It girl, Liz Uy holds a degree in hotel, restaurant, and institution management? While most of us are familiar with the fashion editorials she has styled or the celebrities she works with, there’s more to discover about the busy lady. Aside from the fact that she can whip up a meal in minutes, Liz also loves lutong-bahay. “For me, it’s still different. When I go home to my parents’ house every Sunday and it’s lutong-bahayalam mo ‘yon nami-miss ko rin? Kasi, syempre, my lifestyle now is super fast-paced, and every day I wake up, hot chocolate lang, bye! Bahala na si Batman kung kumain man ako o hindi,” she shares.

Given her hectic schedule, Liz seldom finds time to cook, but she remains a foodie at heart. Perhaps this is the reason why her kitchen and dining areas are kept stylish and inviting. Her condo clearly reflects her style and personality. The walls are painted in Robin's egg blue, a color she refers to as maaliwalas. Most of the furniture pieces were customized by her cousin, interior designer Elle Uy, while some are well-loved items from her parents’ house. “Basta for me, important dapat na it’s comfortable and lived-in. Ayoko kasi ‘yong mukhang bahay na parang showroom,” she says. To transform her unit and to maximize the available space, Liz also took inspiration and learned tips from Domino magazine. Take a quick tour of her condo below:

Liz's condo has undergone major renovations since she moved in. From having a mod lounge look, it became a Bohemian-inspired pad, before transforming into a chic, sophisticated haven. From the main door, a work of art welcomes guests into the space and a bevy of elegant home must-haves. The wooden flooring adds warmth to the space.

Living and Dining Areas

Most of the pieces in the dining area were customized by interior designer Elle Uy. The dining chairs with nailhead trim were paired with a round dining table, while a gold chandelier, originally from Liz's parents' house, hangs from the ceiling. The captivating glow from the chandelier takes the space to new heights, giving it a hotel-like vibe.

The console table, also by Elle, holds books, matching black lamps and other knickknacks. Sprucing up the wall is an accent mirror from Dimensione.

Who wouldn't be intrigued to step inside the kitchen? Ornate double doors lead to the cooking area and conceal it during get-togethers.

On the wall by the door is a framed print by acclaimed photographer Neal Oshima from his saya series. Directly below it is a bench with a printed cushion and interesting backrest from PhoeNix Home.

Defining the kitchen from the rest of the unit is its all-white palette. The only piece that stands out is the black chandelier, a gift from a clothing brand that Liz used to endorse. Aside from serving as an accent piece, the lighting fixture also adds a vintage glam vibe to the cooking area.

RL Tip: Do you also want an all-white kitchen? Take your cue from Liz's cooking space by opting for patterned tiles as backsplash. These materials break the monotony of the space without disrupting the look you have in mind. Visit Wilcon Depot for options.
