Style of Home: Modern Glam

For many soon-to-be-married couples, moving into a new home will always be an exciting thing. Most engaged pairs look forward to finding, furnishing, and decorating the perfect place for two. And, more than the big events, the nearly wedded (pun intended) can't wait for the moments in between milestones, like simply watching TV together or preparing food for each other.

Homeowners Katrin Nunez and Raul Galang prepared for the new chapter of their lives by working on their brand new home. Honey Mutia and Rosa Manduriao of Desaurum Co. Interiors made the most of their 48sqm unit by designing an open layout, choosing white furniture and furnishings, and opting for space-saving details.

Living Area

Once you open the front door, you will feel like you have been transported to an upscale beach house in the Hamptons. The living area looks elegant and sophisticated because of the plush furniture and furnishings. We especially liked the white sofa with nailhead trim.

RL Tip: Do you also want your home to have a luxurious look? Choose fully upholstered pieces in white, blue, and taupe. You can also bring in soft furnishings like heavy drapes, throw pillows, and area rugs.

Living Area

Instead of a coffee table, the designers used a pair of ottomans. They adorned the pieces with faux flowers, ceramic balls, and a silver starfish and seashell.

Living Area

If you live in a small home, you may want to install a wall-mounted console table. Instead of a built-in piece, you can also buy a slim yet sturdy table and place this against the wall.

Kitchen

What can you do with a small kitchen? You can make it more interesting by replacing tiles or countertops with materials that have a high-end look. For example, you can use cool stainless-steel mosaic tiles or a black granite countertop.

RL Tip: You may also want to paint your kitchen cabinets! A fresh coat of white paint can brighten up a tiny space.

Dining Area

If you do not have room for a conventional dining set-up, you may want to build a kitchen island or breakfast table instead. This is a better choice because it can serve two purposes: as an extra counter for preparing ingredients or as a high dining table for enjoying meals.

Hallway

For a chic and stylish look, you may want to draw inspiration from this hallway! Place your favorite photos in white picture frames. You can also surround these framed pictures with classic sunburst mirrors.

Bedroom

Although the bedroom has a modest size, the designers found a way to make it feel like a hotel suite. They chose a blue-white-and-silver color palette, a padded headboard, and nice pillows and bed linen.
