Deutsche Bank Stockbroker Len loves to travel. She makes it a point to bring souvenirs such as photographs, unique trinkets, and books, to name a few – from each and every place that she visits. This became the inspiration of LLD Design Group interior designers Chelle Laborte, Monica Lagman, and Tantan Pambid in decorating Len’s condo unit in Makati. The result? A chic, refined, eclectic summary of the owner’s travels from all over the world.

From the typical white walled and stark condo, Len’s unit now gives off a fresh, young vibe that resonates with wanderlust coupled with practical and timeless wood furnishings. The place is comfortable yet lively, full of personality from the photographs on the wall, travel books on the tables, and unique knickknacks that act as centerpieces.

Living Area From the soft-looking couch to the painting down to the colorful books on the table, the unit easily gives off a comfortable life in the city vibe.
Living Area Detail Incorporate personality to your place. Artfully displayed on the shelves are Len’s black-and-white photographs from Paris and New York, colorful travel books, and various travel finds.
Living Area Detail Work with what you have. Instead of buying new furniture, try re-upholstering pieces. The ottoman and couch were once owned by Len’s grandmother – with a little update, they now fit and match Len’s city-themed condo.
Living Area Detail The walls are painted blue, in a faux-finish technique that makes it look like fabric, but to give an illusion of height, the bottom part was painted white.
Dining Area The dining area already had four high-backed chairs, so the designers chose a padded bench to give the area more character. The dining table is a custom-made tiger kamagong table from Tarlac. On display are prints from an open-air market from Sydney and salt and pepper shakers from Hong Kong.
Master Bedroom The master bedroom showcases hints of an Oriental theme with olive walls, dark woods, and a silk-looking padded headboard. The sleigh bed is decked in white with pink floral pillows serving as accents. The sleek lampshades by her bedside tables keep the room looking modern.
Guest Room Len’s guest room is based on a room in Hotel Verneuille, Paris. An alcove with French toile de jouy pattern serves an accent to the red walls.
Guest Room Detail Len’s shoes are organized in custom-made shoe boxes in a corner of her red walled guest room. The boxes complement the walls and don’t look out of place. They have a clear front so you can quickly see what shoes are inside.
Bathroom To maximize space, the living area and guest room share one bathroom, accessed through parallel doors.
