A Marriage of Tastes in a Fixer-Upper Condo
A couple fuses their individual design preferences into one charming condominium home
For a couple looking to find their first home together, Vince Sales and Frances Amper-Sales had a stroke of luck. They found their current home just two months after their wedding. While it was not love at first sight for their condo, the view from the living room’s window took their breath away. It was a clear day when they visited, and they were awed that they could see all the way to Antipolo, Laguna, and Manila Bay! The only catch was that the condo required many repairs – from a ceiling that was damaged by Milenyo to kitchen cabinets in dire need of an upgrade to a large cylindrical post that stands by the convex-shaped windows. But a skyline view such as that was not be missed, so when the owner brought the price down, the Sales couple had no choice but to go for it.
After the major structural repairs were done, Vince and Frances took on a design project that merged their individual aesthetics to create a lovely home that is well-lived in. They invested in major furniture pieces that appealed to Vince’s aesthetics yet satisfied Frances’ cost concerns. But what stands out are the couple’s individual and shared collections that make this condo unit a charming and cozy starter home for a young couple.
