In today’s fast-paced world, it’s no longer surprising why many prefer to have a contemporary space that’s reminiscent of the best hotel in town. After all, we all want to come home to a safe space where we can kick off our shoes, relax, and forget our worries. Whether you love staycations or the look and feel of a five-star hotel suite, this spacious home with five bedrooms and six bathrooms will surely inspire you.

Designed by interior designer Jen Sohu of Sohu Designs, the home features a contemporary design dominated by neutral colors and furniture pieces that boast of clean lines and smooth surfaces. Accent colors like red, blue, yellow, and green were strategically added all over the home, as materials like wood, glass, and metal tie the look together. “The owners’ personal tastes and styles were applied all throughout the house and are very evident in the furniture and accessories they personally chose. The spaces were designed to reflect their personalities,” shares Jen.

Outdoor Area

Guests are greeted by a green corner with plants and a few garden accessories. These elements give the visitors a feel of what to expect inside the house.

Living Area

The colorful koi painting will immediately catch the attention of guests. To complete the accent wall and to make the colors of the painting pop, Jen opted for custom cut white tiles as background. Additional decor with hints of red and yellow are set on top of a wooden table with steel legs.

Living Area

Reminiscent of a posh hotel lobby, the living area showcases a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that let natural light stream into the space. These two elements add to the airy and spacious feel of the home. Meanwhile, the lighting fixture adds a chic and sophisticated touch.

Living Area

Sleek upholstered and tufted seating pieces make the living area extra inviting and perfect for get-togethers. Behind the sofa is the dining area where eight people can sit comfortably while enjoying meals. A few steps from the dining area is the well-equipped kitchen. Having an open layout allows the owners to move around with ease as well as host big parties.

Dining Area

While the dining area is kept simple and clean, the chosen lighting fixture serves as a focal point. In this home, the lighting pieces double as decor must-haves that liven up each nook.

Kitchen and Dining Areas

To be able to accommodate more guests, an extra counter in the kitchen can be used as an extension of the dining area. Upholstered stools were added as comfy seating pieces.

Who wouldn't enjoy cooking meals in such a spacious kitchen? Aside from the light coming from outside, it's completed with recessed lighting to make tasks easier. The area also has generous countertops and an interesting kitchen island where the owners can prepare ingredients.

The glass mosaic tiles chosen for the backsplash were handpicked by the owners.

Guest Room

A view of the outdoors makes this room perfect for rest and relaxation. To complete the homey appeal, wood veneer and a padded headboard were also utilized and paired with warm lighting.

Guest Room

Aside from having their own TV, guests can also catch up on work or their favorite novel—with the built-in desk and upholstered seating piece.

Powder Room

While many would think of powder rooms as simple and plain, this powder room is a cut above the rest. Jen worked with chevron-patterned tiles to add a dramatic look to the space.

The owners' daughters specifically chose the colors used in their bedrooms. In this room, the neutrals are paired with hints of yellow and blue for a bright and cheerful look. Instead of picking just one color for the padded headboard, three colors were showcased to keep it from being boring.

The occupant will surely have a grand time reading or getting some work done in this chic corner by door. A hanging shelf with yellow back panels livens up the wall.

With yellow as the main accent color, a lighter shade spruces up the TV wall. The designer added playful shapes and details in white to add life to the bedroom.

Second Bedroom

In this sleeping space, muted blues and hints of pink take center stage. The padded horizontal headboard helps create an illusion of a wider space. To give the occupant enough privacy while still letting natural light in, sheer curtains were used.

Second Bedroom

In more ways than one, the right patterns can add life to any space. For the TV wall in this bedroom, quirky shapes and hints of pink make for a lovely background. The chosen color complements the Serenity chosen for the table/storage unit.

Master Bedroom

To achieve the hotel-like feel in the master bedroom, Jen used white duco paint mixed with graphicote glass and mocha paint for the accent wall.

Master Bedroom

Aside from adding to the luxurious feel of the space, the tufted headboard also makes for an extra accent detail. The chosen color for the headboard complements the furnishings in the room—with mocha, brown, and other muted tones dominating the space.

Master Bedroom

A compact yet cozy reading nook was added by the foot of the bed. It's the best spot for refreshments and late night reading.

Meant for the boys, this bedroom highlights dark upholstery and wood veneer. At the foot of the bed is an interesting addition—a wooden piece that would remind you of Lego bricks.

To keep the bedroom from being too dark, wooden pieces and must-haves in white were also included. The floor-to-ceiling slim bookshelf doubles as decor—with the colorful spines of the books adding life to the space.

Home Office

To give the owners the perfect spot where they can concentrate and focus on work, Jen improved the home office. She retained the original cabinets then added a mirror to make it look bigger. Sleek desks were also paired with classic and comfortable seating pieces with nailhead trim.

Outdoor Area

It's important to have a Zen spot at home where you can reflect and spend some quiet time. This outdoor nook is the best place to take a quick break—with the plants providing comfort and the fountain adding to the serene feel.
