After living in condo units for over 10 years, homeowners Calvin and Marga Suratos were excited to build their first house together. Since they have always dreamed of owning a minimalist home, they worked closely with an architect to create a space that resembled a plain white cube. The couple was so excited that they even prepared 3D renderings of the house, complete with a cool walk-through simulation of the interiors.

Facade

Although the couple knew that they wanted a minimalist home, every house in their village had to have a Modern Asian facade. To meet this requirement, they opted for exteriors with a row of narrow white beams.

Since they were told that it was bad luck to have a house number that adds up to four, a number that means death, Calvin and Marga decided to separate the numbers on the awning. The number "1" is placed on the other side.

Michael Cacnio Sculpture

Guests are welcomed into the home with a Michael Cacnio brass sculpture. The sculpture rests on a multifunctional piece that can be used as a bench, table, and shoe storage.

Living Area

The living area is furnished only with a pair of custom-made sofas made by Origins Home Furniture at LRI Design Plaza. There are also a pair of stools from MC Home Depot and a textured area rug from Decoliving Manila.

Dining Area

The homeowners actually purchased a drop light for the dining area but they realized that it would look better without it! The dining area is furnished with an eight-seater dining table and Eames DSR chairs

Kitchen and Dining Area

For a clean and streamlined look, the couple chose the same paint color for every wall. They also used the same gray ceramic tiles for every room.

Even the synthetic granite used in this kitchen is also the same kind used in all of their bathrooms!

Kitchen

To create the perfect minimalist kitchen, the homeowners chose whitewashed cabinets with no handles, a white granite countertop, and a kitchen island for preparing and enjoying meals. The kitchen island is paired with three bar stools.

Kitchen Island

The kitchen island is completed with an induction cooker. Above it is a range hood used to get rid of lingering odors

Espresso Machine

One of the most impressive pieces in the kitchen is this dual boiler espresso machine from Rocket Espresso Milano.

Jars of Rice, Salt, and Sugar

The couple also followed the feng shui practice of bringing jars of rice, salt, and sugar. The clear glass mason jars are placed near the kitchen window.

Refrigerator

Stainless steel appliances are perfect choices for the nearly all-white kitchen. The refrigerator doors serve as the couple's memo board.

Resty Tica Artworks

The only bright colors in this home can be found right outside the master bedroom! The framed Resty Tica artworks are the only art pieces on the walls of the second floor.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has the same white walls and gray floors as the rest of the home. In the middle of the space is an inviting bed with immaculate pillows and bed sheets.

Home Office

The homeowners have turned an empty corner into a home office. They can both get some work done on this nifty built-in desk.
