What started out as a bahay kubo for unwinding turned out to be a resort-like escape for the Riva family of Romblon, complete with an indoor pool, a tree house, and a lush, woodland-inspired garden.

With a generous plot of land bought in 2019, homeowners Karen Christine and Richard Riva constructed their interconnected tiny houses, all of which were borne out of the need for a space to cocoon in during the pandemic.

“Kahit kami we didn’t know [that] we’ll be able to amazing haven for our family,” says KC in an interview with Summit Media. “Parang gusto ko ng isang fairytale house in the middle of the woods.

Richard shares that there was no plan for the space at all. “The sketch was jut on papers… Determined siya na magawa agad-agad.”
