While most twelve-year-olds only have their own rooms to worry about, this youngster is different. She has her own house to maintain and decorate, a birthday gift from her forward-thinking parents. With help from interior designer Carmen Lim-Regala of CRL Designs, she decided to decorate the house to reflect happiness and peace, choosing a contemporary look that is fun, spacious, and colorful.

With furniture customized by Modern Design, the furniture label of MityMike Inc., each room is designed with different concepts in mind—the attic a room to relax and hang out in, the den a mod-inspired entertainment room, the living room a welcoming sunny affair, and so on. All ideas were first made into storyboards and presented to the owner and her mother for approval. The family, together with Carmen, would shop for decor, fixtures, and accents for the home. Constant communication between designer and owner paved the way for a home perfect for the twelve-year old, and one that can easily be updated as her interests change through the years.
