A Two-Storey Country Weekend Home in Antipolo

A classic aesthetic is achieved with strong familial values in place

The owners of this lovely space have been on the lookout for a house and lot for quite some time, one that they could call a retirement home. They searched far and wide until they stumbled upon a lot in Antipolo, a surprisingly quiet property nestled in a residential village, which offered a stunning view of the mountains.

With the help of an engineer in the family and interior designer Hannah de Leon, the home of their dreams became a reality. They spent their time and effort for nine straight months, concerning themselves with everything from customizing and sourcing pieces, budgets, down to design details like color schemes and lighting.

Upon entry, the home welcomes the visitor with a high-ceilinged living room which immediately dictates the design style the family went for—a strong, country look that befits their home’s location. Every nook and cranny evokes the country feel, what with the inspirational art and quotations on the walls and the cozy areas that allow for family bonding. But perhaps the most important quality that this dwelling highlights is the strong sense of togetherness that stems from the family’s teamwork in planning this home. The head of the house sums it up best: “It is has been a tiring but rewarding experience for all of us—every member of the family can proudly say that they are part of this house.”
