A Family Home Uniquely Blends Asian Simplicity with Western Elegance

Merging two different styles can be risky business. But for architect Roland Andres, it was the perfect opportunity to give the Raymundo family the sophisticated living space they had always wanted. His goal was to strike a balance between the contemporary edge of Asian design and the luxurious side of American aesthetics. Even the children got in on the project, voicing out what they wanted for their rooms and giving the home a hint of color and funk.

Before construction, the focus was on structure. Natural light was let into the house through the right angles to emphasize the textures of the interiors. Generous amounts of space were considered for family gatherings and playtime. Bold accessories made of glass or chrome were placed on table tops and warm, complex-designed light fixtures were hung above them. Pieces from Furnitalia refined the space while the high ceiling complemented the overall modern vibe of the home. Architect Roland’s artistry shows that it takes risks to create a masterpiece.
