Sometimes, there is a striking disconnect between the façade of a house and its interiors, but this home is in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Interior designer Van Acuña-Solaña shares that the homeowners wanted to go in the direction of American design from the beginning and “…it just so happened that the village also has an American suburb vibe.”

The lady of the house shares that the space itself posed a challenge given all the details that they wanted to put into it. “It’s a small space, and all the elements of the style we wanted fit better in a larger space,” she relates. Sticking to a predominantly muted color palette helped balance out the heavy detailing and made it easier for the sizable furniture pieces in each room to stand out.

Overlooking the living area is the dining area that is bathed in natural light streaming in from a pair of sliding doors that lead out onto a narrow patio. The lady of the house shares that their main source of inspiration was the Raffles Hotel in Makati, picking up on its use of subtle details that still manage to catch the eye. “We meticulously designed our home,” she says. “We love everything about it. It exudes a hotel feel and is presentable to guests.”

The homeowners obviously exerted much effort in order to create their personal space. The entire house is as pleasant as each of its nooks and crannies. The lady of the house puts it simply: “A home is a place to relax, and we are just proud of, and happy with, the overall design.”
