What makes the ultimate bachelor pad? Some would want to have a gaming or an entertainment room while there a few who’d rather allot space for a fancy bar area. Of course, it’s essential that the owner’s personality shines through in every nook and cranny of the space. In designing this two-bedroom condo unit in Taguig, interior designer Dianne Versoza took all these into consideration and more. “I designed it around the client’s way of life and his preferences. I incorporated my own style into it to create a final look that’s elegant and refined without sacrificing function and comfort,” she explains.

Dark, moody, and with an air of mystery, the aesthetic of the condo takes inspiration from three unforgettable male fictional characters – James Bond, The Godfather, and Christian Grey. Dianne playfully and masterfully channeled the personalities of these characters into the details of the space. The secret storage nooks and hidden compartments allude to Bond, while the vintage details are reminiscent of the Godfather. To bring in Mr. Grey into the picture, the interior designer worked to achieve an overall contemporary and sleek appeal that calls to mind the CEO’s own high-rise home. Our favorite in the space? The stunning bar area takes the prize! It can rival the hippest bar in town, hands down. Take a virtual tour of the condo unit below:

Common Areas

Are you in a high-end hangout or in a condo home? A sectional Chesterfield sofa takes up space in the living area, its rich color complemented with a plush carpet and chic furniture pieces. According to Dianne, she chose to incorporate brass items to balance out the heaviness of dark colors.

Working as a dining area is a luxe table for two by the window, it’s an ideal spot for coffee in the morning or a night cap at night. If you look around the space, it’s easy to notice how Dianne worked with different finishes – from wood and natural stone, to successfully adding an industrial-like touch to the final look.

There are no ordinary lights here. Mood and cove lighting were used and can be adjusted to help set the ambiance of the space. The storage nooks are inconspicuous, too. Each shelf blends seamlessly with the walls to maintain the seamless aesthetic.

One of the challenges Dianne had to work around is the column that’s almost at the center of the living area. “I had to design around it and now it looks like it’s intended to be there. No space was wasted,” the interior designer shares.

It’s no secret that going for a modern look comes with the risk of having an unwelcoming ambiance. Not in this guest bedroom, though. Dianne achieved a hotel-like look and feel – thanks to the opulent furnishings make the room inviting. Neutrals can be homey when used correctly, and this room is a prime example.

Mirrors are added all over the unit to create an illusion of space, but instead of leaving these reflected surfaces as is, Dianne made sure each mirror follows the theme by adding wooden borders in black.

A lounge chair for lounging – we can stay in this spot for hours. In this corner of the bedroom, the owner can take in the view outdoors, read a book, or watch movies. It looks so comfy, standing up seems impossible.
