Twins Turn Their 32sqm Condo Unit Into a Warm, Cozy Home

They've been working on it for 10 months!

It had only been a month before the pandemic-driven lockdown in Metro Manila when identical twins Tuti and Gagay moved into their new home—a 32-sqm unit with two bedrooms in the heart of Makati—and it admittedly was a bit difficult for them to get started on anything.

“We had no choice but to wait for the delivery of most items bought online for two to three months,” they share with Real Living. “Also for safety reasons, we had to wait until our building administration allowed activities inside our unit such as drilling and installing.”

What they had going for them, however, was a clear vision: a playful yet cozy home that would reflect both their personalities, while taking into consideration “the users of the space, the functionality of the space, and the size of the space.”

Foyer and Living Room

The front door opens directly into the living room, and the twins wanted to give it an immediate feel of warmth to set the tone for the rest of the space. “Since the unit did not come with cove lights, [we] added a small, whimsical tree lamp and a floor lamp to achieve coziness.” For a personal touch, they hung photos of their travels above the couch with wooden frames from Japan Home that only cost P90 each. The sofa is from Mandaue Foam, while the barrel footstool is from Uratex.
