This 34sqm Rental Condo is All About Classic European Luxury
Don't be afraid to put in large furniture and statement pieces!
Wood and white may be the trend these days, but there’s still a lot to say about moody neutrals and ornate accents. In this unit designed by IDr. Sharlene Lanzarrote, she plays with dark wood pieces highlighted by silver and gold touches for that European feeling of luxury.
While area is limited, the layout doesn’t feel cramped. One lesson to be learned here is to not be afraid of big furniture or low hanging lights as long as you have a unified palette.
“Inviting warm mood lighting complements the dark and light gray walls,” explains Sharlene. Any visitor’s eyes would be quickly led to the asymmetric three-piece chandelier which is the living room’s main accent.
For a sense of depth, mirrors were added to the wall behind the couch, which reflect the pattern of the mouldings behind the television set.
With a floorspace of 34sqm, storage solutions are a must. The entertainment cabinet has several drawers beneath which a couple of ottomans—which also act as storage bins—can be kept.
Looking out from the living room, a custom-made bar table also “hides” a shelving unit to one side, and in the nearby kitchen, overhead and undersink cabinets have been made available.
The master bedroom feels like a hotel suite. The floor-to-ceiling bamboo fiber headboard offers a sense of grandeur.
And while there isn’t much space in the bath, cutting the walls with color gives it the illusion of having more breathing room.
