Space-saving solutions for a 99sqm condo in Mandaluyong

An interior designer made her condo seem bigger with horizontal details and tasteful furniture.

Condos are a wise investment, but they often lack room. Not so in the case of this unit designed and owned by Irene Enriquez who created illusions of more space with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and long wooden shelves.

Irene also used a muted neutral color palette and customized furniture to make the condo appear bigger than it really is. She brightened up the space with the use of green topiaries or decorative plants -- a design idea she picked up from a trip to SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Living Area

In the living area, the wall becomes more interesting with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and long wooden shelves. Flush against this wall is a high-back couch topped with pillows.

Next to the sofa is a wooden side table topped with a single round topiary.

The wooden shelves are lined with artificial plants and other trinkets.

Facing the couch is a wall with a recessed space for the TV and a lighted shelf for displaying trinkets and mementos.

A window seat provides a comfortable spot for rest, relaxation, and enjoying the stunning view of the city.

Dining Area

In the dining area, the floor and ceiling have been left bright to emphasize the home's airiness. The ceiling is also adorned with overhead lighting fixtures to make the space seem more open. The dining table is an old piece from the interior designer's family home.

Second Bedroom

Just like in the other parts of the condo, the second bedroom has a clean and fresh color palette. Immaculate white is paired with vibrant shades of green and warm wood tones.

All of the artworks in this condo were created by the interior designer. Making your own art for your space allows you to choose the right size and colors. It also adds character and personality to any space.

The bathroom exudes a fresh, spa-like vibe because of the light shades of gray. Irene retained the marble sink and the tub, but changed the lights, added the shower partition, and built a low ceiling.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is bathed in natural light coming in from the glass windows. Stained narra furniture makes the space look refined and elegant. The bed is made inviting with soft Margaret Muir linens.
