Nature-Inspired Hues Liven Up This 60sqm Condo

Designing a constricted condo unit to look more spacious is like trying to grow plants in concrete. Yet architect Ivy Darilag's design for this 60sqm unit makes it feel bigger than it is, thanks to a color palette that gives its users the illusion of being in a forest clearing.
"[The homeowners] wanted something casual and laidback, definitely not 'stiff,'" says Ivy. She describes her design as a laidback tropical theme with strong rustic elements, a description apt for a weekend getaway, which is what the homeowners intended for the unit to be for their family of four. The design elements used to achieve this look are simple enough with Ivy playing with wallpapers and textures, yet this simplicity is what makes it effective.
