A Cozy Minimalist Look for a 48sqm Condo Unit

This bright and welcoming halfway home features elements inspired by Scandinavian design, calming colors, and the owners' handpicked pieces

Given the worsening traffic and a huge milestone in their son’s life, Lei and Enan decided to get a condo unit in Pasig to serve as a halfway home. “Malaking ginhawa siya. Dati, we’d drive every day from the South and back. Nauubusan ka na ng oras for the things you need to do. It’s very toxic,” Lei shares. To help transform the bare unit into a real home, the family worked with interior designer Claudine Medina. “I saw her projects on realliving.com.ph then we met up. We wanted a space na minimalist, with clean lines na bright and airy. And what was very important for me, was 'yung pagpasok mo, ‘Wow, parang ang bango ng room.’ Gusto ko ‘yung lugar mukha siyang mabango,”adds Lei.

In two months, the owners and Claudine worked on the unit, with a contractor executing the design. “The clients wanted their halfway home to be cozy like their house in the South. They also wanted the minimalist, practical vibe of Scandinavian spaces but with personal touches. They were very involved in the entire design process, from the design phase up to the setup and styling of the unit. Because of this, they were able to incorporate their own ideas and decorate the space the way they wanted it,” Claudine says. Roomy and welcoming, the two-bedroom home looks and feels bigger than 48sqm. Take a tour below:
