When it comes to decorating a condo, many homeowners tend to stick to the standard layout and the existing finishes. This means that the units in one building often have the same predictable look and feel. For this 89sqm Ortigas condo, interior designer Wilmer Lopez decided to do something entirely different.

Since Wilmer found the original three bedrooms to be too small, he tore down the walls to create a master bedroom and a living area that can also be used as a guest bedroom. He also changed the existing finishes—the boring ceramic tiles were replaced with polished concrete in the foyer, dining, and kitchen, and pinewood in the living area and master bedroom. The simplicity of raw concrete, the natural appeal of wood, and the quirky details of retro pieces have helped turn a cookie-cutter space into a unique home.
