An Impressive Art Collection Completes This Couple’s Condo Home

Originally a two-bedroom condo unit, this home was a wedding gift to the owners. They wanted to create a home where they could showcase their art collection while also having enough space to entertain friends.

"It was during the design process when we were also introduced to art. We had a vision of collecting artworks. That’s why there are spotlights embedded into the unit’s ceiling," shares the owner. Aside from taking into consideration their prized art pieces, the look of the unit also needs to revolve around the 30-year-old dining table they own, an heirloom piece from the groom’s mother.

With the expertise of TADAIMA Design Company, JNB Builders, Inc., and designer Pat Mansibang helping with the styling, the couple achieved the home they’ve always wanted. Artworks liven up every corner, each one a conversation-starter.

The unit opens up to the spacious kitchen with gray cabinets and wall paint that define the space. The owners decided to retain the existing look of the kitchen and just had the backsplash installed. Dominic Jinon’s "Beauty in Curiosity" spruces up the wall.

Below the painting are sculptures by National Artist Arturo Luz: Homage to Isamu (left) and Duo Performer (right).

Dining Area

The dining table is an heirloom piece, and they had to make sure it would fit in the condo unit without making it look cramped. Adding a mirror in the area helps make the unit look bigger than it really is.

The solihiya seating piece paired with the chairs is actually a coffee table that can serve different purposes. The owners use it as extra seating when having friends over.

A trio of pretty plates livens up the wall near the mirror.

Mini Bar

A bar cart holds glasses and bottles of different drinks. Above it is a Bernardo Pacquing artwork and a framed print by Joan Miro.

Solihiya details tie up the different areas of the condo home. In the hallway, there’s a solihiya buffet table that serves as extra storage. Above it, on the left, is a limited print by Andres Barrioquinto entitled, In the Same Breath. Beside the print is a striking painting by Jared Yokte that’s simply called Untitled.

On top of the buffet table are captivating sculptures. Ramon Orlina’s Happy Together sits on the left, a piece the owners got on their first wedding anniversary.

Meanwhile, on the right is Self, a limited-edition toy sculpture by Lynyrd Paras and Yeo Kaa.

A few steps from the buffet table is a console table with solihiya drawers. On top of it is a sculpture by National Artist Arturo Luz, an Homage to Isamu Noguchi in chrome. Livening up the wall is Between Spaces by Julius Redillas.

The couple’s bedroom is bright and spacious, with a seating area placed in front of the TV. A carpet adds warmth and works well with the herringbone-patterned flooring. Here you will see the solihiya coffee table that doubles as a bench.

Wall lamps and floating side tables flank the bed, dressed up with neutral-colored soft furnishings. Choosing warm tones makes the area more inviting while also matching the color of the cabinets.

The area beside the bed serves as an open walk-in closet where shoes and bags moonlight as décor pieces. A framed print by Heart Evangelista spruces up the wall.

A sculpture from Michael Cacnio’s Girl with Balloons series sits on the TV console.

Subtle yet sophisticated details level up the bathroom’s aesthetic. Vintage-looking drawer pulls and bathroom fixtures lend charm to the T&B to match the unit’s overall vibe.

One of the framed pieces seen in the bathroom is a painting by Yao Sampana.
