A Two-Bedroom Tropical-Inspired Rest House in Tagaytay

Taking inspiration from the calming scenic views of Tagaytay, this condo unit gives a new meaning to dining out and taking a break

Not all homeowners can say that the inspiration of their home’s design came from the view surrounding their condo unit. The owners of this unit are a few of the lucky ones who have this luxury, thanks to their Tagaytay unit’s spectacular view and their decorator Grace Moslares’s design idea. “When I saw the place, I thought that it looked like a mini resort. It’s what I saw outside that became my inspiration for the inside. It felt Filipino modern,” shares Grace who was given the liberty to decorate the space.

True enough, the entire rest house is consistent with its modern Filipino theme. The living area—the first thing you’ll notice upon entering the home—is aesthetically on point with its white walls, neutral palette, and wooden elements. On each side of the space are the bedrooms. Both rooms share the same relaxing vibe with the master bedroom having yellow undertones and the other room having splashes of turquoise blue as accents.

Across the living area is the kitchen with black as the dominant color. It’s a little different from the rest of the house’s palette, but on-theme nonetheless with its wooden elements. The highlight of the home, however, ironically isn’t inside the house—it’s the dining area located in the unit’s balcony. This is the spot where the family and the rest of the clan enjoy food, the stories, and take in the breathtaking view. With a rest house as beautiful as this, it won’t be a surprise if the family of three decides to stay here for good.
