A Former Model's Classy 179sqm Condo Unit

Natural light and a neutral color scheme make this high-rise home a calm living space

Stepping inside the condo unit of Izza Gonzales-Agana is like doing yoga: while inside it, you're brought to a peaceful state. The former model, who now designs yoga wear that is sold at Bikram Yoga Manila in Makati City, wanted this 179sqm condo home to sport a clean aesthetic. Neutrals dominate the space, but the unit is far from being plain and cold.

Izza sought the help of interior designer Cheska Nolasco to help her edit her furniture picks and plan the unit's color scheme. The result is a simple yet classy look. A mix of metal, wood, and soft furnishings makes the home welcoming. Big windows let in a lot of natural light, and simple but carefully curated accessories make for interesting vignettes. It is hard not to love this condo unit, and when you're inside, you just want to stay and bask in its serenity.

Living Area

A variety of seating pieces make this area welcoming. Izza got the gray sofa by the window and the two-toned, bespoke wing chairs from Philux. Meanwhile, the low, Chinoiserie-style chair is from a11 (located at 2680 F.B. Harrison St., Pasay City). The acid washed flooring add texture, as it now looks like natural stone.

Living Area

This spot in the living area is furnished with another gray couch from Philux, a clear accent table by Patricia Urquiola (available at Dexterton, 3/L Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City), and a marble accent table by designer Tina Maristela-Ocampo. A few accessories jazz up the white bookshelves. Natural light makes this area feel open and airy.

Living Area

A wooden cabinet, which Izza got from her mother-in-law, and some statues of monks from Chatuchak, Thailand add a bit of Asian flair to the unit. An artwork by Aner Sebastian titled "Resthouse" is perched on an easel.

Dining Area

The curvy legs of the dining table from a11 give the dining area a feminine vibe. "But if you look at the dining chairs, hindi naman sila ganoong ka-ladylike. I have to balance them," says Izza. Various tabletop accessories decorate the bespoke buffet table. The dining area is anchored by an area rug from SM Home.

Master Bedroom

A queen-size bed from Mav Furniture makes for an elegant but cozy sleeping space. Izza got the bed cover from San Francisco, California when she and her husband Yakie were newly married. Slim side tables flanking the bed were from the couple's former condo home.

Guest Room

The guest room is dressed up in a neutral color scheme, just like the rest of the condo unit. Izza's niece occupies the bedroom. A single bed from Philux also provides a cozy sleeping space.

Decor Detail

This carabao horn from Landmark Department Store can act as a vessel for pica-pica during small gatherings. When not in use, it makes for an interesting tabletop accent.
