A Bachelor’s 40sqm Loft-Type Condo
This unit shows just how to exude a livable, bar-like ambiance in a compact space

For architect Angelo Gabriel Siochi, a solution-oriented approach ranks higher on his list than impressing his client. In this loft-type unit situated in Pasig, the architect faced a design challenge: to transform a compact area and achieve a bar-like ambiance for a cabin crew’s halfway home. Needless to say, he was able to deliver what the client needs, and it looks impressive at that.
This unit is an exercise in balance. The bar inspiration is most evident in the kitchen, where everything was replaced with black—counters, shelves, cabinets, among others. The other areas also basked in black, from the furniture, furnishings, down to the decorations. But to avoid making the home look too dark, grays and browns, as well as greens from real plants were put into place. The same balance can be seen in the chosen pieces, as the bachelor pad also features a mix of budget and investment pieces.
