Compact condo units can be just as homey as full-fledged houses. A testament to this fact, a bi-level condo unit in Quezon City is the home of a retiring couple whenever they come to Manila from Baguio. Given the bare unit to work with, architect and designer Allen Oblena turns this promising space into a homey haven with a classic contemporary look.

The couple favored a streamlined aesthetic and a neutral color palette. Allen kept to this theme but made the look more interesting with updated classic pieces. He also employed an open-plan layout, creating smooth transitions between areas and an airy ambiance.
