A 49sqm Condo Unit Gets a Dose of Varying Shades of Blue
Ample storage spaces, blue walls, and modern accents define the Magto family's high-rise condo unit
When the Magto family sought the help of interior designer Kristine Neri-Magturo, her only request was to make her 49sqm condo unit seem bigger—something that all condo owners crave—and to work with a blue motif. “It has to be color blue because it's my favorite color,” she says. Kristine was skeptical about the blue palette at first, but the homeowner insisted, and after plenty of open communication between the two, both women finally found a perspective that pleased both parties.
Kristine used different shades of blue for the walls, and balanced out this vibrant hue with white, beige, and brown accents. The fixtures and furnishings are modern and functional in design—stainless steel mingled with wood. To make the condo seem less narrower than it already is, there are no walls demarcating the kitchen, living, and dining areas.
Perhaps the most important thing that the homeowner picked up while working with Kristine is to always be honest and candid with your interior designer. “When she was asking me [what I wanted], I didn't know how to present it to her. I gave her freehand in the design, but she would ask me if I like it," she says.
