John Lloyd Cruz’s Sprawling Family Home
Located in Antipolo, the well-thought-out property features a lovely outdoor area, a French Mediterranean structure, and American Traditional details

When building a dream home, having a list of the things you want and don’t want may come in handy. A checklist can make it easier for you to communicate your vision with the design professional you’re working with, streamline the processes that need to be done, and make shopping for must-haves a breeze, too.
Take it from actor John Lloyd Cruz—in building this impressive home in a subdivision in Antipolo, he knew that he didn’t want a modern design style and old, intricate furniture pieces. He prefers a fine balance between elegant and casual—opting for a French Mediterranean structure and American-design interiors.
With the help of architects Roland Andres and Danny Lucas, John Lloyd got the space he envisioned. Sitting on a 1,100sqm corner property, the house highlights a relaxing feel, spacious nooks, and an enviable pool and outdoor area. “Kung anuman ‘yong nakikita n’yo dito—laman ng bahay, ‘yong dating ng bahay—sa akin talaga, number one kong kinonsider ang comfort,” he says.
