James Yap's Sleek and Modern Bachelor Pad

Modern lighting pieces, streamlined furniture and customized essentials complete the 140sqm condo unit

Original Article: Yvette Tan Photography: Rene Mejia Interior Designer: Kim Policarpio

A few years ago, basketball superstar James Yap welcomed the team of YES! Magazine into his 140sqm, two-bedroom condo unit in Bonifacio Global City. The place is stunning and hotel-like—with captivating lighting fixtures and furniture picks that highlight classic elegance and modern details. While the space was semi-furnished when James bought it, his friend and interior designer Kim Policarpio still worked on a few adjustments to create a pad where the cager can relax and unwind after game day.

Describing the final look as “modern, contemporary, classic” the designer chose James’s favorite colors—black, white, and gray—as the base of the color scheme. Meanwhile, streamlined furniture pieces that appeal to the owner’s style were also brought in to complete the place. Kim also made sure to have some of the items customized, taking into consideration the height and frame of James and his teammates.
