Q: I bought a bungalow with butter yellow walls. How can I incorporate light shades of gray, blue, and green? I would also love to change the color of the door to complement the exterior and interior walls. Can you give me some tips? –Chel Nabong via Facebook

A: Wow, I think you've chosen a great color palette for your home! I would paint all the trim (baseboards, cornices, etc.) and doors a bright, clean white.

Bring in the rest of the colors through upholstery and accessories like throw pillows, curtains, and vases.

RL Tip: Don't worry about mixing patterns! As long as you stick to your color palette everything should go well together.
