Indoor Plants That You Don't Need to Water Every Day

These are perfect for forgetful plant owners.

There are some indoor plants that don't need water as much as others—in fact, overwatering could even be the reason why they aren't thriving! Check them out below:

1. ZZ Plant from Plants Manila and Sprout Plants Manila

This popular houseplant prefers to be left alone—water only when the soil is dry to keep its dark green leaves from turning yellow. Since it has thick, potato-like roots, a ZZ plant is able to store water, which makes it an ideal plant for beginners or forgetful plant parents.

2. Snake Plant from Nest Plant Studio and Green Thumb MNL

Snake plant is one of the toughest indoor plants out there. It will survive even if you forgot to water it for weeks! According to Almanac, this indoor plant does "not tolerate soggy soil well; they tend to develop root rot," so it's best to let its soil dry out before watering.

3. Money Tree from Spruce Plant Shop

This indoor tree with a braided trunk is believed to attract good fortune and it's generally easy to care for. Money plants prefer to be watered thoroughly but infrequently. "Water the plants until the water runs from the drainage holes and then let them dry out between watering," advises Gardening Know How

4. Yucca plant from Terra Plants and Spruce Plant Shop

With its sword-shaped leaves, a Yucca plant won't fail to liven up a bare space. Interestingly, the striking houseplant also thrives on neglect. In fact, according to The Spruce, overwatering is one of the most common reasons why Yucca plants fail to survive.

5. String of pearls from Sprouts Plants Manila and Fern MNL

This cascading succulent with pea-shaped leaves would look lovely when placed on a shelf. Like many succulents, this potted plant can tolerate dryness as it stores water in its round leaves. That said, water when its topsoil has dried out, and make sure to place it near a bright window to keep it happy!
