"The more attractive and inviting it looks, the more positive Qi is enticed to come inside," says Jemma of Home Heart Feng Shui. "Positive Qi in your home means better health, wealth, and opportunities!"

So how exactly do you create good feng shui in your main entry? Below, we gathered a couple of tips we learned from the feng shui expert!

Do: Care for your front door. 

When was the last time you repainted your front door? If it's starting to peel off or fade away, you might want to give it a fresh coat. "It's very important to keep your door in tip-top condition at all times!" says Jemma. (Click here for feng shui tips on how to choose your front door color.)

Do: Keep your entryway bright! 

A bright and open entrance is a must in order to harness positive Chi. But if this part of your home looks dark and cramped, installing "some bright lights [on] the ceiling and [using] light colors" can already help open up the space, according to the feng shui expert.

Don't: Keep your main entrance empty. 

To welcome guests and positive energy into your home, it's good to have a landing space in your entryway—this could be as simple as having a bench, a console table, or even a rug. Just make sure to keep this spot clutter-free!

Do: Place two floor plants in front of your main door. 

Plants work wonders in making any space look more relaxing and inviting. In feng shui, it is also believed to strengthen the good energy in your entire house. According to Jemma, "placing two healthy plants on either side of the front door helps to increase the vitality of the Qi that comes into your home."
